The Grey Angel Army has done it—we’ve made our first charitable contribution!
See this photo? It’s a donation check given to the CT Brain Tumor Alliance in the amount of $400.00. On Tuesday, December 4th, I had the distinct pleasure of driving out to Avon, CT., and meeting with the very special people who make this organization work. Pictured from left to right are: Elisabeth McNivens (Associate/Administration & Finance), Me, Chris Cusano (Executive Director) and Jennifer Pace (Board President).
The CT Brain Tumor Alliance is an incredible organization that provides hope and support to brain tumor patients and caregivers by connecting with those patients one-on-one, and leading them to the resources and help they need after receiving such a difficult diagnosis. The CTBTA supports pediatric and adult brain tumor research and also provides patient assistance funds to help individuals and families meet their necessary living expenses. Their mission and vision is focused on advancing brain tumor awareness and brain cancer research, and increasing quality of care for those dealing with the difficulties of this disease.
These funds will go towards their most recent initiative, called “Blankets of Hope”, in which they are distributing cozy fleece blankets (grey of course!) to patients in partnering area hospitals to help provide comfort, and spread their mission. This donation will provide approximately 40 blankets!
If you have purchased from Grey Angel Designs since its opening in late July, then YOU are to be thanked—as it’s only with your involvement that I am able to make this wonderful donation happen. THANK YOU!
